Sherpas Cinema is set to premier their latest film All.I.Can on September 23 at the Whistler Conference Centre.

Two years in the making, All.I.Can is a ski film with a conscience and the Sherpas are hoping to fuel an environmental shift in awareness and provide people with a jumping off point to think about the simple changes they can adopt in their lives to ensure we have snow to rip in the distant future.

“We don’t want to preach,” says Malcolm Sangster, producer with the Sherpas. “But we do want people to think about it more.”

And to give us all food for thought the Sherpas are hosting a free Environmental Awareness symposium all day before their screening. With lots of giveaways, keynote speakers, booths and athlete poster signings it should be the most fun premier to ever hit Whistler. (I hope the posters are printed on recycled paper.)

There have been a few haters around town talking trash about “how can you preach environmental sustainability when you’re filming from a helicopter and flying all over the world?” but the Sherpas say those detractors are missing the point, which is entirely possible considering no one has seen the film yet.

I got a sneak peak of some Whistler Locals shredding lines into that Volcano pictured above and it is safe to say just from those shots that the Sherpas are really stepping it up from their last film, the award-winning avalanche awareness movie The Fine Line

The Symposium is free and starts at Noon. Tickets for the Movie are 20 bucks, get them here or call 1-800-WHISTLER. And that includes the Monster Energy AfterParty with music by Mat the Alien and The Tennessee Three (of Johnny Cash fame.) I’m hosting the evening and it will be legendary. see you there.
