Baffin Island. A place so incredibly vast and untouched it seems almost unreachable. A quiet, massive landscape where giant couloirs ascend thousands of feet above the sea ice, weaving in between some of the tallest and cliffs on the planet. In this epic installment produced by Jordan Manley and presented by Arc’teryx, five skiers arrive at the fifth largest island in the world to seek an entirely new ski experience, one where they become swallowed by the epic scale of their surroundings.
The kudos have been rolling in for Manley, Sayers and crew, and rightfully so. They’ve done an incredible job at capturing the sense of isolation that Baffin Island brings. It’s not an easy job pulling the camera out and setting up gear at minus 30, nor is it easy boot-packing up thousands of feet of steepness to ge tthe shot. But these guys have done it, and done it well.
