Shinny on the lake – It’s Game on!

Shinny-hockey lovers and skaters here’s our window of wonder. It’s game time on all of Whistler’s lakes at the moment. And with a high-pressure system still in the forcast for a another few days and beauty ice conditions, get out there and take advantage.

Things to bring: a camp chair to change into your skates and to rest after lung-and-leg hammering continuous skating. Pucks. Everyone should always bring at least one puck….nothing worse than losing them all and playing with a shoe. Shin pads or bike pads. The puck bounces, and frozen pucks hurt. Nuff said. Helmet. Totally up to you, but not a bad idea when you catch an edge at high-speed and smash your skull on the ice.
Beer...because it wouldn’t be a true Canadian-style tradition without it.

Also stay tuned for an impromptu Mountain Life 4-on-4 shinny tourney that will be happening soon. Below are some photos of today’s pick-up shinny action on Green Lake.
