And what a lady she was. Sarah Burke shaped the landscape of not just women’s skiing, but skiing in general. As you’ll see in this Matchstick tribute, Sarah Burke was a force to be reckoned with. She not only dominated the park scene (her forté), she also was a true lover of the sport in every way. Pillow lines, rails, massive booters, drops, pops and big-mountain lines — Sarah skied it all in her career, and skied it all damn good. But what rises above any big line, any trick in the park or any medal around her neck was her genuine humility. She was a people’s person, and that’s what she’ll be remembered for more than anything.
