The Anthill crew shines a big bright spotlight on Whistler’s insane mountain bike culture, showing that there are many, many ‘bike bums’ in this town who care more about dirt than they do about snow. These trail shredders embody their own ‘living the dream’ lifestyle based around spending every day riding endless downhill.
“I feel like I HAVE to be here in the summer, like I have to ride the bike park,” says Adam Billinghurst. “I’d probably go crazy if I was elsewhere.”
Like a die-hard surfers living close to the beach, passion-driven riders are building a community around the world famous Whistler Mountain Bike Park. This dream requires sacrifice. But no sacrifice is too big for the committed. In the greater mountain bike community we hold these people up as purists. They are the ones we think of when we feel trapped in our own routines. They are the ones that help keep our dreams alive.
Strength in Numbers is a new community film project from Anthill Films and Red Bull Media House. Strength in Numbers is being made available for all mountain bikers to experience through free online streaming of individual segments. Anthill’s vision is to create the potential for every mountain biker in the world to be able to see and share the film. Stay tuned next week for another free segment.
